can go a long way ;)
For a while now I have been collecting all sorts of balls of wool and really textured threads. I use them for doll making, scrapbooking and all sorts of other things. I wanted to make something that used up a lot of them together for two reasons 1) the textures and colours together are gorgeous and 2) because well I just have too many and need to use them up. I thought I might try knitting something but I tell you I am hopeless and always will be lol. I am left handed and could never find anyone to teach me so I tryed finger knitting some. I loved how they turned out and decided to plait many threads together to make thicker cords and them when I had enough I got my sewing machine and started sewing them down onto felt. So now I have the beginings of a great fluffy rug. It is quite a fast and fun project to do and it feels great under your feet, now I only need anout 6 more of these panels to finish off a decent size rug and then I will back it will something a little heavier. If I don't brake too many needles in my machine (I have broken 2 already) I should have it completed pretty quickly. I really need to stop starting new projects, I am getting side tracked from study but it's loads of fun.

I am also in the middle of editing 9 scrapbook pages I completed over the last couple days, I'm on a roll and can't stop, it's nice to have new photos to have fun with.
Must go now I have a couple friends and their little girls coming up for the day, should be fun a house full of squeeling girls.
Take care

New glasses, dolls & necklaces
Well things have been busy again or is that still ;) Martin and I had been given new prescriptions for reading glasses a little while back and we finally did something about getting them. This is first time glasses for Martin but not for me and the pair I chose this time a bit nicer than my old ones and they do help. What we don't like is the bill that came with them, we were about $500 out of pocket after our rebate from our health fund grrr. Oh well we do need them. They are metallic red with blue handles, very cool. What do you think?? about the glasses I mean not how tired I look lol
I don't have a photo of Martin in his as he wouldn't let me near him but I think he looks great.
I found some photos of some dolls I made recently and I only posted pictures of a couple as I had sent some off to other people, 2 went off to Dot for a swap we had. Anyway here they are.

I have made a couple new necklaces. One which took 5 minutes and another which I really like.

I have spent all of today scrapbooking and I have heaps of pages to photograph and share and the start of a rug I am making out of plated fibres, its full of yummy texture and colour.
Must get back to my pages, inspiration in the form of yummy paper from the Hobart craft fair is calling me :)
Take care

Werribee Zoo.....
is beautiful. I know I went to Melbourne back in March but I never got to share any pictures because my camera has been broken. Well my camera is still broken in terms of I can't use the usb port and it will cost me $300 in repairing it. I am going to try and claim it on our insurance. Any way I did find out you can put your memory card into another usb card then into your computer and yay I can now use my camera again,,,happy girl why yes ;)
These are just some of the pictures I took at Werribee Zoo and I haven't edited them, my camera takes beautiful photos I think and I love these ones.

I will be back soon I have lots of crafting to share and new decent photos to share. Oh I love my camera.
Take care

High destinction and my little Lucy....
Hi I have been so busy with life and kids and even though I have wanted to post on my blog I just haven't found the time.
I have been studying hard and I received my first assignment back with a mark of HD (high distinction) so happy I answered every question right and I am finding myself eager to sit and study to learn more. At the moment I am planning and designing a new lounge oh how I wish this was for real and I had the money to decorate how I see my house in my work. We took Georgina to have her plasters replaced and she is now sporting to pretty purple legs. We are having some problems keeping them dry with all the rain we are having when we are going to and from school, especially when parents choose to use the disabled parking near the entrance, but I want complain (the teacher is though lol) over all she is coping very well and can't wait to get into her splints and have better movement and she can remove them for baths etc. I tell you putting her head over the bath to wash her hair is not fun for me or her, lets just say I'm sure the people up the street can hear her protests :(
Lucy and I have been doing some crafts together and just spending some alone time.
We painted these plates and Lucy painted all the spots, flowers and swirls. She adores painting like her mum, even though I am not very good lol but it is fun.

I think Lucy is feeling a little left out or something with all the attention that Georgina has been getting as her behavior has been different and she seems overly emotional as well. We only have to raise our voices a little and she is in heart braking tears. We have been trying to be extra special to her.
I am off to the big quilt and craft fair today at the entertainment center with a friend and I am so excited I love the place, can my pocket handle it lol.
As I don't have any of my crafts to share so I'll share some photo's of my baby girl who is in need of some extra loving. I am her mum and I am of course bias but I think she is so cute ;)

I adore her big blue eyes and her cheeky grin. This little girl is a ratbag but we love her to bits.

Hospital update...
Hi Well Georgina went off to Hospital early Monday morning and we were home about 5 hours later all over and done with until next time. Anyway we got there about 7:30am and she was prepped for the operating room and the staff there were so great with her explaining the whole procedure to her and us.
Only one parent was allowed to go into the theatre so Martin went to see her off to sleep as if I went I would have frightened her because I was so near tears just watching them prep her etc. They gave her gas (lolly scented) to fall asleep and then inserted the canullar(sp?) which was great, that would have scared her. Martin and I went and got coffee and no sooner had we drank it I was called in to see her wake up. I think I got the worst end of the stick because she woke up choking and crying and was not well at all but they gave her some medicine which worked pretty quickly and she was really sleepy. Both her feet were plastered after recieving I think 8 botox shots in each leg? not entirely sure. But all in all she was a very brave girl indeed and we were so proud of her and she got meet another little girl her own age who has cerebral palsy too and was having her 5-6 round of botox and well we have come to reallise very quickly that this is no quick fix and she may be having these treatments for a long time to come, I guess sometimes denyal is a good thing.
The nurses at the hospital gace Georgina this certificate and she got to keep the face mask that still smells like lollies so she has something to take to show and tell at school. This morning at school all the other kids in her class were just staring at her and not saying anything so Georgina and her teacher are going to talk to the whole class, my girl is very brave and she is not embaressed about her legs she is proud as we have told her she is touch and brave and very special indeed.
Georgina will now have the plasters changed every Wednesday for 4-6 weeks and then go into her splints. After going to hospital she was treated with a new toy and also got presents from both our mums, lucky girl. Another little girl got a treat as well and I think is feelinng left out but Georgina is back at school today and it's time for some mum and Lucy alone tim
Thank you for all the well wishes for my daughter they mean alot. Now I am off to do some crafts with Lucy as she is sitting here not so patiently saying "when will you be finished mum" oops, must go
Take care

My hair, my dolls & my girl
Hi well after doing my hair this morning I realised that my regrowth (dark brown) is starting to show through the red dyed top of my head, the bottom is black (weird yes I know). Well want advice on whether I should I let the red grow out, dye it again or go completely black???? I have had it all black before and people say it's not bad that way but I do think I may be to pale for that now, (it is winter and we are all pale lol) but I do like the red??? I don't know what do you think?
I can't stand having my photo taken especially sharing on my blog but I am turning 35 in a few months and I guess age is making me more excepting of myself these days, and of course we all have more things to worry about than our looks now don't we lol
I completed this layout yesterday and I know it is a shocking photo of it but I was in a hurry so the batteries didn't run out. The page is about self worth and learning about myself.
There is a tree of growth with tiny little photos about becoming a mum, wife etc
I also wanted to share some little clay dolls I made. I only have photos (not too good) of three as I made 9 dolls allup and they are on my better (sick ;( ) camera.
These dolls are completely made out of clay, they are weird but kind of nice huh?

Now for a Georgina up date. We went into Othotics in town and had both her legs up to her knees put in plaster to make moulds of her feet and calfs made for her splints. I should have taken photos as I plan on documenting this whole thing for her,but I will take it to hospital and she isok with that. We are to be at the hospital at 7:30am Monday morning ugh, too early but we shouldn't be there longer than 5 hours tops and we can take her home. I'll update more then.
Before I go and make some tea I will show you what I put on my dining room wall today, wooden letters covered in Gesso and sanded back. All the first letters of out names, just something a little different. I set them up next to my fake Vincent van gogh. I love them
Have a great weekend.
Take care

Pink artist 2009...
Hi I have signed on to create an art piece to go into the "Pink artist draw" find out all about this great event here. I wasn't part of the the first drawing but many artists donated creations to this great cause so I look forward to joining in. Breast cancer research is so important to all of us so any little bit of help is good.
I will post some more information and pictures of my piece soon, I have something in mind already.
I am in the middle of a large set of works for a competition, but I'm shy about entering and of course I can not share pictures yet but it does involve a doll and wrapping plaster that I'm so excited about, it's working out so good.
Any way please go and check out Monica's blog for all the "Pink artist" buzz.
Take care
